ABDB Designs was founded in 2016 by French-born father & son furniture makers Antoine Schapira & Djivan Schapira, as well as Chicagoan Andrew James. 

ABDB, for Au Bout Du Bois in French, or At the End of the Grain in English, is an award-winning studio handcrafting contemporary furniture & interior decor originally designed by artist Djivan Schapira. 

Each of Schapira's creations feature a technique he invented, the now-patented technique of stylistically embedding cross-cuts of recycled wood in custom colored resin.

This groundbreaking technique, can be applied to any flat or slightly curved surface, and can be customized with ease, allowing for a custom color, wood species, end grain design, and beyond... allowing for our clients to truly be a part of the story they seek to create within their space.
